The following is one of the many fun letters we receive from customers.

Dated May 20 1972 this is one of our favorites:

“Dear Mr. Follett Out here in the Azores we have a character named Gary Papermaster who goes around the neighborhood spraying a rather vile looking green liquid on anything from a squeaking hinge to a drooping petunia with sometimes dramatic results! He makes wild sounding claims for this concoction, calls it WATCH US GROW and says you are the head sorcerer who concocted it. After months of brainwashing in a moment of weakness I permitted him to

use this devils brew on my garden with startling results. My weeping willow no longer weeps, our blushing violets no longer blush, the pansies have grown hair on their chests, and the poor little worm that got hit by the spray ate the early bird this morning. I should also like to report that my listless mexican jumping beans were last seen by Apollo 16 on the way to the moon! In view of these dramatic results I am very anxious to obtain a gallon jug of your brew so please let me know the current price and instructions on it’s use as I am anxious to try it on myself!?

Thanking you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter,

I am Sincerely yours Harold A. Stark”

We have seen these for many years!

We really believe our product can do great things for all of our fellow gardeners and farmers everywhere.

It feels great to see the feed back we get from our great customers.

There are many dry and liquid fertilizers of varied formulas on the market. There are formulas for houseplants, gardens & lawns, formulas for trees and shrubs, formulas for vegetables and fruits.

If you buy a dry fertilizer that has an analysis of 10-10-10 that means that only
30% of that purchase is usable fertilizer, 70% is a filler of some sort.

The most inefficient method to fertilize is soil application, no matter what the plant or crop. There are many factors that may make the soil applied fertilizer unavailable to the plants.

Nitrogen is leached out of the soil and carried away by water. Nitrogen can also turn into gas and escape into the atmosphere.

Use of herbicides may kill the soil organisms so that nitrogen is not converted into a usable form.

Phosphates can be tied up in alkaline or acid soil.

Potash can leach out or be tied up in clay soils.

Dry weather also retards the availability of soil nutrients. The end results are ,that the plants do not get the full benefit of the fertilizer you purchase.

Your loss could be as high as 75%! Almost all dry and liquid fertilizers do not have the important TRACE elements or MICRONUTRIENTS necessary for good growth.

Watch Us Grow all purpose liquid plant food is a 256 to 1 concentrate of the 3 major elements plus
5 TRACE elements or MICRONUTRIENTS. Diluted and applied to the foliage it becomes active plant
food within minutes and the plant uses 98% of the fertilizer applied. The one formula is perfect for all plants, trees, shrubs, grasses, house plants vegetables and fruit throughout the world.

Using Watch Us Grow All Purpose Liquid Plant Food

To see what effect this formula would have on seed planted in flats and in garden rows , two experiments were made using “Watch Us Grow” All Purpose Liquid Plant Food as a watering medium. Two trials were made in the first experiment: First, seed planted in rows were watered before covering the soil;

Second , seed was watered after being covered with soil. He found that the use of “Watch Us Grow” All Purpose Liquid Plant Food in solution before covering resulted in slightly faster germination than after covering. But in both trials seed germinated faster and more evenly than would have been the case without the use of the solution.

In the second experiment , he tested larger seed soaked in a solution of “Watch Us Grow” All Purpose Liquid Plant Food and planted out- of -doors. Two rows were planted with wax bush bean seeds, which had been soaked in solution for a period of 5 minutes. As a control, two rows of untreated bean seeds were planted ( as any gardener would plant seed ).

The treated seed germinated evenly and appeared above ground in three days, half the time taken by the untreated seed.

The treated plants came into bloom earlier by a week. When beans began to form, the normal test on beans got a side dressing of fertilizer, while the treated beans got a spraying every two weeks with insecticide and fungicide mixed with with solution of “Watch Us Grow” All Purpose Liquid Plant Food.

By late summer the beans grown under normal conditions had turned brow and had finished producing. The beans treated with

“Watch Us Grow” All Purpose Liquid Plant Food were heavily blossomed and still producing when first frost killed them.

In 1942 Stephen Follett began working on the theory that cuttings taken from parent plants suffer shock and that , until the cutting overcomes this shock, (1) they cannot produce roots and (2) they are susceptible to disease , making the loss of cuttings very high. In order to test his theory , he chose to use the geranium, a plant that takes most growers from 20 to 30 days to root and which has a loss rate from BLACK LEG -0 Pythium SPP of 25% on a national average. By compounding certain elements , which he later called” Watch Us Grow” All Purpose Liquid Plant Food he was able to root geranium cuttings in from 7 to 10 days (depending on varieties) and consequently reduced the loss due to BLACK LEG to less than 1%.

After testing this compound on 180,000 geranium cuttings he had obtained conclusive proof that shock and susceptibility to disease commonly experienced by plant cuttings was effectively reduced by the use of the product” Watch Us Grow” All Purpose Liquid Plant Food

The new year is here and it often inspires us to make resolutions. We here at Watch Us Grow All Purpose Plant Food suggest Gardening, whether it be Vegetable Gardening , Flower Gardening or whatever interests you, it may be the most rewarding resolution you have ever made.

Did you know that the National Gardening Association estimated that 19 percent more people grew veggies in 2009 than in 2008?

Knowing exactly why this is may not be that difficult for many of us to understand. There is just something very satisfying about planting, caring for,and then harvesting your own food.

For those of you that have made this resolution for 2010, we will offer some simple tips to help you be successful.

First, it’s not a bad idea to start small in your first year, this will help keep you from becoming overwhelmed with tasks like weeding .You can expand your gardens as you become more experienced and confident. Choose the location of your garden, be mindful that it should receive at least 6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day, this will give your plants enough to grow to their full potential. Also make sure the spot you choose has good drainage, you don’t want to be sitting in a pool of water after a rain. You want a soil that will drain nicely, any chance you get add composted material.

Next you will want to choose what to grow, choose what you like to eat.

The following is a short list of veggies that are easy to grow.

GREEN BEANS- bush type or climbers use some type of trellis for the climbers.

TOMATOES- to many types to list. Talk to your local Garden Center folks , they will be happy to assist you in choosing the variety that will work best for you.

CUCUMBERS- again ask your local Garden Center folks.

RADISHES

ZUCCHINI

CARROTS

SALAD GREENS (Swiss Chard, Lettuce, endive, watercress)

All of the veggies you choose for your garden will need to be fed throughout the growing season, foliar feeding (feeding through the leaves) is by far the most efficient way to supply your plants with the nutrients they need to grow to their full potential. Watch Us Grow All Purpose Liquid Plant Food is the product that will give your plants all they need.

Traditionally most of us purchase a Poinsettia for the Holidays.

It’s a great idea, lets do it,

First you need to choose a good retailer to buy from, as always we recommend your local Greenhouse or Garden Center as they are very knowledgeable about the plant.

Choose a plant that looks generally healthy ( nice dark green leaves)and has upright branches , these will be much more sturdy than a plant with outward growing branches and will have less chance of being damaged in the transport to your home.

When you have selected your poinsettia your retailer will put it in a wrap of some sort if it is not already in one. This is to protect the plant from the cold. Get it to your car as fast as you can. Poinsettia do not like the cold , drafty areas or being brushed up against, this is stressful to the plant.

After you get your Poinsettia home, place it in an area with bright indirect sunlight, if they are wrapped in foil remove it.

This is done so that water is not trapped , don’t let your Poinsettia sit in water.

The best temperature for Poinsettia’s is 60 to 80 F .

After the Holidays your Poinsettia will likely be done blooming and will lose it’s leaves. But don’t despair you can keep this plant for next year if you wish to.

When your plant has lost it’s leaves cut it back to about 6 inches above the rim of the pot.

Then feed it with 1 tablespoon to 1 gallon of water of Watch Us Grow Natural All Purpose Liquid Plant Food every 2 weeks. When it gets warm enough to move the plant outside, usually 50 F , do so and put the pot in the ground and continue to feed every 2 weeks until the middle of September.

Then move them to a dark place still at a temperature of 50 F with no light . Continue to feed and water as needed and the plant will be ready for the Holidays once again.
